What are your hours?

  • Monday – Friday: 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM 
  • Sunday: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
  • Saturdays: 9:00AM – 5:00PM
  • Closed statutory holidays

How can I book an appointment?
Appointments can be booked through our online booking system or by calling us directly at 204-222-5221.

Are you accepting new patients?
Yes, we are currently accepting new patients looking for a family doctor in Winnipeg. To register, please contact our reception team.

Primary Care

What is primary care?
Primary care is your first point of contact for most health concerns. It includes routine check-ups, managing chronic conditions (like diabetes or hypertension), preventative screenings, immunizations, and general health advice.

Is there a cost for primary care visits?
No. Primary care visits are fully covered by Manitoba Health if you have a valid Manitoba Health card.

What if I don’t have a Manitoba Health card?
If you are new to Manitoba or not eligible for coverage, you may be responsible for paying out-of-pocket for your visit. Learn how to get a health card here.

Can I choose which doctor I see?
Yes. Patients may request to see a specific physician if they are accepting new patients. For urgent needs, our team will book you with the first available provider.

Walk-In Clinic

Do you accept walk-ins?

Yes. Our walk-in clinic is available during regular clinic hours. Walk-ins can be booked online or by calling the clinic.

What types of issues are treated at the walk-in clinic?
We treat non-emergency concerns such as minor injuries, infections, rashes, sprains, and prescription refills (where appropriate).

When should I go to the emergency department instead?
If you have chest pain, severe shortness of breath, signs of a stroke, major injury, uncontrolled bleeding, or a severe allergic reaction, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room immediately.

Mental Health & Therapy

Do you provide mental health services?
Yes. We offer psychotherapy and counselling services provided by licensed professionals. These services include support for adults and children for areas including anxiety, depression, trauma recovery, stress management, ADHD, relationship challenges, and life transitions. Learn more.

Are psychotherapy services covered by Manitoba Health?
Generally, therapy and counselling are not covered by Manitoba Health. However:

  • Some extended health insurance plans provide coverage.
  • Indigenous patients with a valid Treaty Status card qualify for coverage through the Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) program.
  • Some workplace Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) may also cover sessions.

How do I know if I’m eligible for NIHB coverage?
If you are a First Nations or Inuit patient with a valid status number, you are eligible for unlimited therapy services. Our administrative team can help guide you through the process and connect you with our therapists who are NIHB-approved providers.

Do I need a referral to see a therapist?
No referral is required. Patients may book directly with our mental health team.

Prescriptions & Tests

Can I get a prescription refill at the clinic?
Yes, prescription refills can be managed through your family doctor or during a walk-in visit. Please bring your medication list with you.

Do you provide lab or imaging services on-site?
We do not currently offer lab or diagnostic imaging in-clinic. However, Legacy Sports Medicine (adjacent to our location) offers X-ray services, and we can provide referrals for labs and specialized imaging as needed

Accessibility & Other Information

Is the clinic wheelchair accessible?
Yes, our clinic is fully accessible.

What languages are spoken at the clinic?
Our physicians and staff primarily speak English, and some team members may provide care in additional languages. Please call us if you would like to confirm.

How do I transfer my medical records to IMD Medical Clinic?
You can request a transfer through your previous physician’s office. Our staff can assist in this process.
